A Nurturing and Engaging Start to Your Child's Educational Journey

At Mamre Anglican School, our Pre-Kindergarten program provides a caring, Christ-centred environment where children are known, valued, and encouraged to flourish. Designed specifically for children preparing to begin formal schooling, our program combines play-based learning, inquiry-based exploration, and explicit teaching to build confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning.

We understand that choosing the right early learning environment is one of the most important decisions a family can make. Our experienced educators work closely with each child to support their spiritual, emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and excited about coming to school each day.

Building Strong Foundations for Kindergarten and Beyond

Our Pre-Kindergarten program is intentionally designed to prepare children for a successful transition into Kindergarten. Through carefully planned learning experiences, children develop essential school readiness skills while becoming familiar with the routines, expectations, and structure of school life.

Within a warm and encouraging environment, children learn to:

  • Develop early literacy and numeracy skills
  • Build confidence and independence
  • Follow routines and classroom expectations
  • Form positive friendships and social skills
  • Strengthen communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Develop resilience and a growth mindset
  • Grow in their understanding of God's love and creation

Every learning experience is designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

A Christian Education from the Very Beginning

As a Christian school, faith is woven naturally throughout our program. Children are encouraged to wonder about God's world and learn Biblical values such as kindness, respect, gratitude, honesty, and compassion.

As the year progresses, Pre-Kindergarten students begin attending Junior School Chapel services, helping them develop a sense of belonging and connection within the wider school community before commencing Kindergarten.

A Rich and Engaging Learning Experience

Our Pre-Kindergarten program incorporates the principles and practices of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Early Stage 1 framework, ensuring children are well prepared for their next stage of learning.

Students enjoy a broad range of experiences, including:

  • Literacy and Numeracy Development
  • Children participate in engaging and explicit literacy and numeracy lessons, including instruction through the highly regarded MultiLit PreLit program, which develops foundational reading, language, and phonological awareness skills.

Specialist Learning Opportunities

Children enjoy weekly lessons and experiences including:

  • Library visits
  • Music lessons with a specialist Music teacher
  • Christian Education lessons
  • Junior School Chapel participation

Sport and Physical Development

Students are encouraged to develop confidence, coordination, and teamwork through participation in:

  • Athletics Carnival
  • Cross Country Carnival
  • Fundamental movement skill activities
  • Outdoor play and physical development experiences
  • Excursions, Incursions and Community Events

Throughout the year, children participate in a variety of memorable experiences that enrich learning and strengthen community connections, including:

  • Book Week celebrations and parade
  • Easter Hat Parade
  • Mother's Day and Father's Day events
  • Educational incursions and excursions
  • Whole-school community events

The Advantage of Learning Within a School Environment

Unlike many early childhood settings, our Pre-Kindergarten students are already part of the Mamre Anglican School community. They become familiar with the school grounds, specialist teachers, routines, and expectations long before they begin Kindergarten.

This unique experience helps children transition smoothly and confidently into their first year of formal schooling, while giving families peace of mind that their child is already known and supported by our staff.

Flexible Attendance Options for Families

Our Pre-Kindergarten program operates during school terms and follows the regular school day, making it an ideal option for families seeking a structured school readiness program.

Families can choose between:

  • 3-Day Program (Monday to Wednesday) OR (Wednesday to Friday)
  • 2-Day Program (Thursday to Friday)

Affordable Early Learning

From 2026, our Pre-Kindergarten program is available for just $50 per day, providing exceptional value for families seeking a high-quality Christian early learning experience.
