To support the schools strong academic endeavours by having a cutting edge co-curricular football academy. It also aims to develop players’ technical and tactical skills, knowledge and understanding of the game and to set the highest standards for personal growth through sport for both children and adults.
Players must be enrolled as students at Mamre Anglican School.
There are no playing restrictions placed on players outside of school. Players are free to choose any club to play each season. Students wishing to represent Mamre in their Football teams MUST be in the Football Academy.
Mamre Football Academy hold open trials throughout the year for players to trial for entry. Trials may be organised at alternative times under special circumstances. Any players wishing to be involved in the academy MUST be playing football outside of school in some capacity.
The Mamre Football Academy is structured to cater for players at an elite level. Players identified at trial as being elite or with elite potential will be offered a place in the academy. The Academy caters for students right through to Year 12. All training sessions involve ball contact.
The Senior School training schedule for the Football Academy is three 60 minute sessions per week. These sessions include one recovery session utilising a physiotherapist and new facilities including an onsite gym, undercover synthetic training surfaces and much more.
The Junior School training schedule involves two 60 minute sessions per week.
As with any football training academy, there are fees associated with our Mamre Academy. Players will be advised of total costs upon entry into the Academy.
Our unique Junior Development Program was developed to cater for boys and girls that are in the beginning stages of elite development. This program is designed with an elite focus, to develop technical skills through the discovery stages of learning. This group trains twice a week. Players will be advised of total costs upon entry into the Academy.
Mamre acknowledges football as not only a sport but an emerging industry, within the general sports industry, where a range of career opportunities exist. It is our intention to nurture growth in participants in a range of football related disciplines including coaching, refereeing, sports administration and sports media as they progress through their senior school years.
The coaching team have other highly qualified staff who participate in training sessions.
